No Longer A Heroine is going to be an Amazing Comeback Story

This webtoon makes me so angry. I’m not gonna lie. But that’s the exact BS people be pulling on people in real life, starting drama for no reason other than to drag people down. This article is just me doing character analysis and being upset.

LET’S BE REAL: SPOILER ALERT. I warned everyone. But go read it! I love this series.

No Longer a Heroine is about Lisa Cheon who was the “best” actress in Korea until she had a “drug scandal” ( big ass quotation marks for that). She lays low for a few years until she realizes her mother didn’t pay off their house fully and she has to make her comeback. So, she stars in a new high school drama called Marigold High with a problematic cast that includes Dowon, her ex; Zeya, an idol who can’t act; and Haygeong Ma, a self-centered actress who wants to retire. Turn up the drama because this Webtoon is gonna get hot!!!

Honestly, I’m sad she is even forced to make a comeback. Acting is the only thing she knows because she was a child actress and she never worked any other jobs. Technically, she could work at any job, but someone would recognize her. The old acting manager basically offered her a job but doesn’t care if Lisa has issues and should probably go to rehab. Honestly, I don’t think the word “rehab” has been mentioned once in this series? I don’t remember it being written.

Lisa Cheon is a complicated character in herself. Her mom practically forced her to be an actress, she became an alcoholic after her ” drug scandal” because she felt depressed, and she just has all these toxic ass people hanging around her.

And what is all that BS with saying actors and actresses can’t date? That’s shit is gross. So, in high school, Lisa was dating Dowon. Oh, and she was told to break up with him because it would distract her from her career. So, they broke up, and she got depressed and walked into this “drug scandal” trap.

Now, later in the series, Dowon is being told by his sponsor that he can’t date Lisa Cheon because she has a drug history and he should go ” date a normal girl”. The sponsor said if he doesn’t break up with her, she’ll ruin her career. And she already got her career done ruined by the “drug scandal”. So now Dowon is forced to break up with her…..

Forget the whole not being to date thing, fuck that. Dowon’s sponsorship got me messed up. So, his sponsorship is basically sex slavery without the title. He gets roles and gets noticed but he also has to have sex and do coke with his sponsor?? So, the sponsor basically controls him. This particular sponsor gets rid of men when they are past their prime, which is age 26 to her and they are basically broken and coke-addicted.

Bring in the bleach water because I wanted to see if that shit was true. People have been arrested for doing stuff like that in Korea. I was done…🤣🤣 Even here in the US, they do that too, but to women more often. I was like, “What the hell is wrong with people?”

So what everyone in the comments says “all the characters esp Lisa and Dowon need to have a date with therapy”

The trauma in this series is portrayed very well. No one is getting help for their problems and is trying to push them away. Like everyone does until they realize they have hit rock bottom or they want something more and their problems are holding them back. Lisa wants to act to get that money, but her alcoholism is holding her back. Dowon wants to be a good actor for Lisa, but he’s being broken down from the sponsorship, which is holding him back.

The director of Marigold High (the show that Lisa is making a comeback in) needs some therapy too. She is good at her job, but damn, sometimes she is not good at conveying her emotions. And she had some shit going on with Lisa’s mom back in the day. I’m like, “Hol up?”

I almost forgot about the local crime lord himself. Jojo the silver-haired fiend. He just wants to come around and start drama and exploit people even though he is already famous and has talent. He just has issues, but we do not know his backstory yet. I’m curious, what the hell is his problem with Lisa? The local crime lord is friends with Zeya (the guy with the red hair in the picture) and he acts like he is all good and shit, but we all know that he’s a bad guy.

Well, as I always say, the series isn’t over, so there are so many questions to be answered. But I’m ready to keep on reading it.
